Surpriza sau nu. Filmul "The Revenant" pierde Oscarul pentru cel mai bun film in 2016 in favoarea peliculei "Spotlight" a lui Tom McCarthy, desi filmul a castigat categoriile "Cel mai bun actor" si "Cel mai bun regizor".
Leonardo DiCaprio in sfarsit castiga un premiu Oscar iar Alejandro González Iñárritu castiga pentru al doilea an la rand Oscarul la categoria "Cel mai bun regizor".
Tom Hardy si „The Revenant” pierde inca un Oscar la categoria "Cel mai bun actor in rol secundar" in favoarea britanicului Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies / Podul spionilor).
