Biografie:
Absolvent al Universitatii din Missouri, Tom Berenger a inceput sa joace teatru in orasul natal. Ajuns la New York, a obtinut cateva angajamente in seriale TV, cel mai important fiind rolul lui Timmy Siegel in One Life to Live. Primul contract pentru un film a fost pentru Butch and Sundance: The Early Years (1979), urmat de Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977). Dupa cateva roluri in filme ca The Big Chill (1983), Berenger este distribuit in rolul fricosului Sergent Barnes, din filmul Platoon (1986), performanta ce i-a adus o nominalizare la Oscar. A urmat apoi rolul unui jucator de baseball in Major League (1988). In anii '90 a interpretat roluri pozitive sau negative si a jucat in seriale TV, cum ar fi Cheers. In 1998 a interetat cu succes rolul din filmul The Gingerbread Man, in regia lui Robert Altman.
