Jeff Bridges

Biografie:
Fiul actorului Lloyd Bridges, Jeff Bridges a debutat pe marele ecran in rolul carcotasului minor in bratele mamei sale adevarate, Dorothy, in 1950 in melodrama The Company She Keeps, regizata de Jane Greer; film in care rolul fratelui mai mare a fost jucat chiar de fratele sau adevarat Beau.

Mai traziu, avea sa primeasca primul sau rol major in filmul lui Peter Bogdanovich, The Last Picture Show (1971), pentru care a fost nominalizat la premiul Oscar. Doi ani mai tarziu, a fost din nou nominalizat la Oscar de aceasta data pentru cel mai bun actor in rol secundar in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974).

Bridges a lucrat din greu in anii '70, in mai multe filme, inclusiv Hearts of the West (1975) si Stay Hungry (1976). In anii '80, avea sa cunoasca triumful, in urma rolului primit in Heaven's Gate (1981). Bridges incepe anii '90 cu filmul Texasville, si o continuare a The Last Picture Show. Incepand sa-si imbunatateasca performanta cu laude in Fearless (1993) si American Heart (1995) (in care a debutat si ca producator), actorul realizand comercial daca nu din parte criticilor, un deosebit succes cu thrillerul Blown Away in 1994. Un si mai mare succes a avut cu un rol principal in filmul Barbrei Streisand, The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996) si in filmul fratilor Coen, The Big Lebowski (1998). In 1999, Bridges se intoarce la genul thriller cu Arlington Road, in rolul interesantului vecin al teroristului Tim Robbins, dupa care joaca in drama/comedie a lui Albert Brooks, The Muse. In plus pe langa profesia sa, Bridges a scris in jur de 200 de cantece, un talent pe care si l-a integrat in impresionantul film din 1989 The Fabulous Baker Boys.
